This section will explain what is needed to get started with your Power BI governance. It includes videos for an introduction to Power BI and the governance, which should be viewed by everyone that will be involved with the completion of the Power BI governance blueprint document.
Everyone involved in completing the governance document and/or reviewing it will be called going forward the "Governance Team". There is one leader of this team, who is the person that will make sure all activities in the governance training and governance blueprint get completed and signed off. This person will be called "Governance Leader".
Each training lesson going forward will indicate who should review or prepare the training topic: everyone = "Governance Team", or just one individual = "Governance Leader".
The completion and review of the governance document will follow these steps:
Governance Leader prepares the Team involved with governance.
Everyone reviews the governance business blueprint template and governance videos provided
Working sessions are organized to review the governance business blueprint document as a team and complete open company specific topics, review questions from the team and assign responsibilities to complete governance deliverables.
Governance Team works on completing deliverables and create draft governance business blueprint document.
Governance Team reviews, completes and signs off governance business blueprint document.
Governance business blueprint document is shared with anyone involved in Power BI at the company.
